Bio
I was born at Rovigo on a snowy January day some years ago.
When I was ten years old my parents enrolled me at the Conservatory.
I applied myself to studying the Harp however I was more attracted to painting and above all stealing the paint colour tubes from the adults since in my home nearly everyone paints.
My adolescence was spent in contact with nature in the countryside of Veneto and Tuscany where I moved with my family at the age of 16 years.
My passion was the study of the classics, I fell in love with the French impressionists and fascinated by the works of Picasso.
In 1987 I began studying medicine, in 1993 I graduated then I specialize in Internal Medicine. Beginning as a doctor in Siena I later moved to Florence, where I currently live.
My biggest passion remains however painting.
When time allows (always too little) I attend the workshop of a master who guides me in technique and style, but it is mainly the observation of nature that I draw my inspiration from. My debut began with classic themes that progressively I have abandoned to arrive at a style more and more contemporary and personal.
I experiment with different techniques, from oil to acrylic with introduction and use of various materials (paper, steel wire, stones, etc ...).
I explore the most important collections and museums of contemporary art from around the world. I remain intoxicated with the emotional power of the coloured backgrounds of Rothko and of the expressive violence of Vedova.
In 1995 I meet a very special person that introduces me to a new territory , il Casentino and in particular Poggiotondo. With this area I have over the years established an unbreakable bond.
A Poggiotondo (a true Paradise in itself) where often my works are born, I love to escape on weekends with my beloved German Shepherds Kim and Otto.
I dedicate myself to the management of the farm in which I follow in particular the production of olive oil. Given my training I also created a site on the health aspects of olive oil www.olioesalute.it, where I coordinate a team of doctors and veterinarians, and I participate as a speaker at meetings and conferences on these topics.
Despite my work with medicine and the production and insterest of olive oil I am continuosly evoked by the brushes, colours and canvas be invoked by brushes, paint and canvas because they permit me to escape and to penetrate into a world where I find fulfillment.
But my greatest joy I feel when I'm at Poggiotondo!
In this magical place I have given life to a large garden, for years abbandond creating various thematic areas where the light and the colors are designed to <
I wish to pay tribute to my garden, with the desire to fix on the canvas moments of life, special and unique.
What else can I say about my painting? I can say that my paintings are the fruit of the enthusiasm that I feel in the discovery and experimenting of new things.
Painting in fact I reach, harmony, I'm happy and I would like to convey these feelings to those who look at my paintings.
A ambitious proposal?
I'll try.
